Our story

Le Paradis de Lucile has been in the family for four generations

Why this name ?

Before anything else, I would like to share with you the story behind the name “Le Paradis de Lucile.”

In 2021, we began welcoming guests into our family home—travelers eager to discover our beautiful village, visit Claude Monet’s house, and explore the stunning Vexin region, all while staying in a charming home that blends the beauty of the past with modern comfort.

When they left, our guests would often say, “This place is paradise.” From there, the name for this special family home became obvious: Le Paradis.

All that remained was to pair it with the name of someone truly exceptional—someone full of kindness, warmth, and always there for me: my grandmother, Lucile.

This house we offer you was her second home. We spent all our summer holidays here together, when my parents would escape the heat of the French Riviera to recharge in this unique place. We also gathered here every Christmas with cousins, aunts, and uncles. As you can imagine, this is our family home—filled with stories, joyful moments, and cherished memories.

Now it’s your turn to come and experience our beautiful home, to share unforgettable moments with your family and friends, and to create your own memories.

The Le Paradis de Lucile team will do everything possible to make your stay a timeless escape—where you can relax, have fun, and strengthen the bonds with your loved ones.

Don’t wait any longer—start planning your next getaway just outside Paris. ✨

Our story

In 1950 , my great uncle "Bob" wanted to fly a glider in Chérence.
My great-grandparents and grandparents decide to accompany him. They take the opportunity to take a walk, take the Route des Crêtes and pass in front of the land of the property with a sign "For sale" .

This discovery takes place a few years after the War.
My family discovered a plot of 22,000 m2 and a house. All bombarded. But the magic of sight works and my grandfather decides to do everything to buy this jewel.

It was then that my family bought and refurbished the existing house, on the top of the land.

The objective is to create a family home to meet there on weekends. As you can guess from the photos, the war left behind some memories…

(You should know that the castle of La Roche Guyon is known to have been occupied by the German General Rommel during the Second World War).

The renovated house then allows the family to gather and live happily during weekends and holidays. Families are growing and it will be necessary to build another house on this heavenly place to be able to accommodate everyone comfortably.

My grandfather, a former student of the School of Fine Arts in Paris, decided to build a house overlooking the gardens of the Château and the village.

He sets up his project with the companions of duty, makes his plans and decides to dig into the chalk cliffs to have a house overlooking the panorama.

After a monumental renovation, the house that would later become “Le Paradis de Lucile” came to life, and this magical place began welcoming new generations.

We spent all our Christmases and holidays here, always happy to come together, generation after generation.

Sadly, in 2017, my grandparents passed away. We couldn’t imagine leaving the house empty. So it now naturally opens its doors to you, allowing you in turn to enjoy holidays, weekends, and festive celebrations here in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The renovations

In 2020, we began renovating our paradise to enhance its charm and bring greater comfort. Our goal was twofold: to continue the tradition of a family home and to open it up to travelers.

And so, a monumental renovation project began: updating all the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, garden, and access ways.

As with any renovation, there were challenges, and my husband had to roll up his sleeves. He spent countless evenings and weekends overseeing the contractors, renovating certain rooms, and handling electrical work himself.

We went through some funny moments, and our children learned that creating a magical place sometimes requires going through tougher times 😊 : living in dust, washing dishes in the bathtub, eating picnic-style for weeks… But they knew the result would be so extraordinary that it was worth it. Our son Charles tended the garden while our daughter Aline delighted us with her cooking.

For the renovation, we chose to preserve the architecture designed by my grandfather, his beautiful doors imported from Spain, the natural beams, exposed stone, and terracotta tiles . These marks of time give the house an immediate sense of harmony and well-being from the moment you arrive.

Alongside the house, we transformed the garden, which spans over one hectare. As you can imagine, every evening and weekend for nearly three years was dedicated to Le Paradis de Lucile. Even today, we continue to improve the décor and consider additional services. That’s why we decided to include chocolates from our local chocolatier Botte Secrète, apple juice from Ferme des Ruelles, and other local treats.

We guarantee you an exceptional stay in this paradisiacal place. Simply gazing at the indescribable view will transport you elsewhere.

We look forward to welcoming you.
